We need to be loved and acknowledged by family, friends and work colleagues to feel a sense of belonging. To be part of something, a group or an ideal is sometimes a choice of compromise. It is innately human to want to be accepted but what if that acceptance demands a negation of our core values?

What happens if we are not accepted? Do we sell our soul: our integrity to not feel lonely and isolated? Is it OK to just deny our beliefs just a little bit to be loved and if we do the latter can we truly love ourselves again?

What does it take to truly belong to humanity? To truly belong to ourselves.
