Butter vs Margarine : The Truth

EscargoeFrench people are famous for their ideas of savouring the sensuousness of their food............swimming in the gloriousness of Butter AND they are the least overweight people in the world.  The ingredients of butter are simply milk fat, water and salt ( if you want the real taste!)
And yet we are told that margarine is better ........ So here's  "THE SKINNY" ........... Written  By Allan of HEALTHY HABITS.................for your delectation!

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys.    
TurkeyWhen it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research, wanted a payback – so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.

It was a white substance with no food appeal – so they added the yellow colouring and sold it to people to use in place of butter.

LET'S COMPARE! Both have the same amount of calories.  

Butter

  • Butter is 60% higher in saturated fats than margarine.     
  • Eating margarine can increase heart disease by 53% over eating the same amount of butter – according to a recent Harvard Medical Study. 
  • Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods. 
  • Butter enhances the flavour of food and tastes delicious!

Margarine

  • Margarine is very high in trans fatty acids (dangerous to health) and triples the risk of coronary heart disease.
  • It increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol (which is the good cholesterol).
  • Increases the risk of cancers up to 5 times.  
  • Lowers quality of breast milk in lactating mothers.  
  • Decreases immune system response – thereby increasing risk of sickness.  
  • Decreases insulin response – thereby increasing risk of diabetes.
  • Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC….and shares 27 ingredients with paint.
These facts alone should surely be enough to have everyone avoiding the consumption of margarine for life – and in fact anything else that is hydrogenated (this means that hydrogen is added under high pressure, changing the molecular structure of the substance, good fats converted into dangerous trans fats) You can do a test yourself !!
Fly-on-Marg

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or a shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things : No flies, not even the most pesky of any breed of flies will go near it (that should indicate something interesting ??). It does not rot or smell differently, because it has no nutritional value nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms that grow on rotting foods – will not go near this stuff. Why ?? Because it’s nearly PLASTIC.
